It's lady bug season! My goodness gracious, so many ladies everywhere today.
Kurdish ladies too (Friday = picnic day!).
But first... le selfie
We visited Lake Dukan. The lake is humungous and we could see only a part of it. We rode on a boat to a little island because we are adventurous people ready to seize the day. (10 minute boat ride...)
Ladybugs everywhere, I tell ya! (Excuse my henna-stained nails...)
And here is the man of the hour, the one you've been waiting for: Mohammed!
Aka our guardian angel.
After the boat cruise, we had lunch at Ashur Hotel. This spot is where Saddam Hussein and big political figures used to go on vacation. It was restricted to only rich visitors, we passed by abandoned checkpoints that were used as security back in the days. Now, the hotel is completely empty, we were the only ones there.
We lightweight took full advantage of their non-existent clientele to request unusual sitting for lunch.
Can we put the table in the jacuzzi? No? Okay, poolside will do.
After our visit to the lake, Mohammed invited us to his village that was conveniently on the way back home.
His family cultivates cucumbers.
We met his cousins, who were baking traditional Kurdish bread.
That kid needs to practice his duck face...one day he will achieve the perfect selfie! We all believe in you.
Daw, cutie pies! Okay, picture perfect-ness achieved.
All right y'all, happy Friday!
omg 1) the abandoned hotel ..woah so so cool and 2) lol the perfect selfie!! so cute
